Overview:

“Shiratori Ritsu’s Tale” is a visual novel set at Kirihara Academy for Girls. Shiratori Ritsu, the only male at the school and its priest, protects the school from demons. His sanity is tested with the arrival of a new student, Mary Harker, a hundred-year-old vampire, and a mysterious call from the devil questioning his purpose in life.

Story:

In November, winter begins. Kirihara Academy for Girls, a missionary boarding school, is in the remote Japanese mountains. Here, we meet Shiratori Ritsu, the only male on campus and the school priest.

Ritsu has never left the academy grounds, which protect him from demons who lust after him. The girls at the academy believe he is their guardian angel, and he helps them, driven by the death of a girl that strengthened his resolve to make others happy.

Balancing the holy and the sinful, Ritsu barely holds onto his sanity. The arrival of a new student, the hundred-year-old vampire Mary Harker, begins a new chapter. Her presence brings a surprise: a phone call from the devil.

Can Ritsu’s powers truly bring joy to others? Why was he born? This is a story of life and prayer.

Characters:

• Mary Harker: An extremely optimistic, pure, and clumsy vampire known as the Red Bird. She’s still a novice with few powers except mesmerization. Enrolled in the academy, she’s now Ritsu’s classmate. Despite her tragic past, she remains a lovable airhead.
• The Twin Sister: Ritsu’s “twin sister.” Cool and aloof, she often seems uninterested but has mysterious powers like Ritsu. She shows up at the academy and becomes his classmate, often revealing her surprisingly lecherous side.
• The Black Bird: A completely ordinary first-year student younger than Ritsu. She’s a masochist who enjoys being teased and is a member of the swimming club. Though sensitive to danger, she doesn’t let fear stop her.
• The Teacher: A newly appointed teacher who previously studied at the academy. She tries to be mature in class but often slips up. She has known Ritsu since her days of skipping class and reveals her true self around him.
• The Genius: Ritsu’s classmate and the smartest person at the academy with a perfect memory. Indifferent to others’ feelings, her genius often leads to off-putting behavior. She’s particularly interested in Ritsu, the only man around. She gets along well with her older sister, Risa.
