You play as Colton, an editor with big dreams of success in Aurea. He gets a chance to compete in the Hierarchy through the Rising Star program, which seems like a dream come true. However, his dream quickly turns into a nightmare when he’s contacted by Spectra and given an ultimatum by a ghost who has kidnapped his parents. With no connections or preparation, Colton must fight to win this year’s Desire Hierarchy, solve the mystery of Spectra, and uncover secrets about the city. Along the way, he’ll encounter Aurea’s most famous, eccentric, and dangerous individuals.
In The Specter’s Desire, you’ll need to think carefully to survive. The game features Ace Attorney-inspired gameplay, where you listen for Colored Statements and respond with the correct Note. You’ll point out errors, support allies, and even lie to get ahead. You’ll also manage your Stress Grid, create Logic Chains, and solve puzzles in the card-based minigame, Peacekeeping.
The game has 52 unique Encounters, each offering different challenges. You might find yourself bidding in an auction to collect Evidence Cards for solving a murder, escaping a room about to catch fire, winning a rigged poker game, dueling a Robot Cowboy, or battling your own mind. The variety keeps you on your toes!
The game has 25 Chapters across 5 Acts, totaling over 40 hours of content. After the credits roll, there are bonus materials to unlock.
